I’m so excited to be in Doha with Ryadh for a quick getaway. We’re staying at the W Doha which is my favorite hotel in Doha. It’s so much colder here than it is in Dubai, I wasn’t expecting that so I didn’t pack properly… I’m freezing! So far we’ve been stuffing our faces at all the restaurants in the W and we’ve been doing some sightseeing.

EXPLORING KATARA
This has been my first time in Katara, I’ve never heard of it before until the staff at the W Hotel recommended it us to visit. It’s basically a huge cultural village (it’s massive!) where you have this open amphitheatre, buildings with beautiful architecture, a stunning mosque and there’s huge a square along the water side with live performances, food stands etc. The square reminded me a bit of the Djemaa El Fna square in Marrakech. Overall, a very photogenic and “Instagramy” place.
BRUNCH @ MARKET by JEAN GEORGES
I’ve been at this brunch before at Market by Jean Georges (about 3 years ago) however, it seems like it keeps improving. I already thought it was great the last time but this time, I was really, really impressed. The dessert selection only is massive, not to mention the seafood and sushi selection. The quality of the food is incredible, everything is made fresh and from scratch. There’s a live jazz band, adding some flavour and funk to the brunch.
SUITE VIBES
We stayed at the W Suite which is the exact same suite I stayed at the last time I was in Doha. It’s quite luxurious, it has huge windows and a stunning view of the West Bay area. All toiletries are from Bliss which is one of my favorite skincare brands. The suite has a large bathroom (with a bathtub and huge shower), two restrooms, a desk, lounge area, dining area, king size bed (with a mirror on the ceiling) and finally, two large cupboards.
DINNER @ WAHM
Wahm is a bar located right next to the hotel swimming pool. There’s an indoor and outdoor lounge area where we had bar food and sheesha. Since I don’t eat gluten or dairy, I went for fish mainly. First we had fried calamari, shrimps & sweet potato chips. Then for the main course I went for grilled salmon & veggies. The staff at the hotel is really cautious when guests have food allergies which I have yet to experience here in Dubai. They take it very serious and will go out of their way to create a dish that you can eat (even if it’s not on the menu). For me it’s always a challenge to eat at restaurants because it usually contains ingredients that I’m not allowed to eat and they usually cannot customize dishes or remove certain ingredients. The fact that the staff did all the thinking for me was very relieving. We sat outside but it was really, really cold ugghhh! I really wanted to have sheesha so we did stay for a while.
Part two of my stay in Doha is coming soon! In the meantime, check out #NajlaTravels on Instagram to see all of my travel posts.
