Cruising through the mountains of Marmaris on jeeps was our main activity on the 2nd day in Turkey. It took us a while to get to the top but we finally made it and it was definitly worth it. The view was stunning!
I could spend the entire day up in the mountains but we had a full itinerary with other activities.
Freshly made Gözleme
After cruising through the crisp aired mountains, we arrived at a small village called Bayirkoyu. This is where we had the best and freshest homemade lunch. I quit dairy a while ago but I couldn’t resist these freshly made Gözlemes and I don’t regret it either. They were SO GOOD! Gözleme (guz-lé-me) which is basically a Turkish pancake filled with feta cheese and spinach. Obviously the ingredients come from the mountains and are purely organic and fresh. There was a really cute grandma making these pancakes with the most traditional Turkish backdrop (peep the framed Atatürk picture).
Kizkumu beach
On our way back down, we left the mountains for the beautiful Kizkumu beach in Orhaniye village. The beach is famous for this pathway that runs straight through the middle of the sea. You can walk on this path to the other side of the sea which is pretty cool. Unfortunately I didn’t have a drone to capture that shot. It was also quite busy with tourists and I tried to stay away from the crowd.
